Turn it up loud, captain!

Are these boys worth waiting for ? Well, how many people in the shot do you think would
say yes ?

...yeah, probably every single one of them. I'm happy that U2 cancelled their April shows and put them back to a few raucous nights in November ...because man, I was putting in some hard yards for exams and a few hours to switch off and 'RAWK' is what I needed. I've seen these guys on three separate tours now and they have lost nothing in terms of their performance, style. musicianship or their message, and on this occasion, senator Bono was at his best.

It's funny, at different concerts there are moments that tend to live longer in the memory and mean more as time passes. I saw two shows on the Vertigo tour, with night two providing the best live performance of, (in my opinion), the best live song that U2 perform - Where the Streets Have No Name.

Along with Streets there were a couple of classic performances of One, Vertigo, City of Blinding Lights and even though I'm note a major fan, night two saw Bono cane Miss Sarajevo !

There's also something about being in the middle of an 80,000 strong crowd and having everyone with the same degree of excitement just go off. Sort of reminded me of the night when Australia beat Uruguay on penalties to get through to the World Cup - that's the most insane crowd I've been in ever. There were moments during both gigs that kind of felt like that, it was outstanding.

Anyway, this blog is really just for the memory banks. Want to try and capture a bit of what I felt. I guess Bono nails it when he says that when he hears people screaming it's not about people screaming at him but of the memories that they associate with their songs - 'singing for themselves'..... yeah, maybe. I prefer to think of it as a superb backing track to my subsconcious.
